News from Hughes

Good morning

The gales blew through pretty quickly in every sense. Although intense for a while, we suffered little damage which was a great relief after nervously waking to the roaring wind.

While the closed vents kept the wind out, the lack of ventilation contributed to the rapid demise of the Tomatoes in the saturated atmosphere. There are still a few but we will clear them this week along with the Peppers.

With Sprouts, Swede and Celeriac available from Home Farm, Nacton in Suffolk, there is a comprehensive range of produce available as we go into Winter.

With the Glasshouse producing a modest stream of salads and leaf crops there will be plenty of choice.

Best wishes

Grahame and Lizzie Hughes
